A List Of Article Directories
Below are some article directories (sometimes called article banks). These are ones that take free submissions, and have categories for most general topics. I put them roughly in order of traffic-generating performance, based on my experience, so use the top ones first.
You may also want to do a search on Google for article directories that cover your specific topic.
1. http://www.ezinearticles.com - This one gets special mention. No other article directory has delivered as much traffic to my sites, both directly from the directory itself, and from the web sites that pick up my articles from here. In fact, I submit to about a dozen directories regularly, but I still get more traffic from ezinearticles.com than from all the others put together.

Article directories seem to have more technical problems than other websites. If you can't get a site to load, try again later. If one of these directories happens to go out of business (it happens fairly often), or starts charging a fee, feel free to email me to let me know. I'll remove it from the list.
